Mestalla will once again host a match featuring the Spanish Men's National Team, marking the 33rd time La Roja has played at the Valencian stadium. The most recent occasion was in 2019.
This was confirmed by the Board of Directors of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) during their meeting on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Luis de la Fuente's team will play as hosts at Mestalla on Sunday, March 23, in the second leg of the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals against the Netherlands.
The Spanish National Team’s journey at Mestalla began in 1925 in a match against Italy. Since then, the stadium has hosted 18 friendly matches and 14 official games. The most recent of these was in 2019, during the first round of the Euro 2020 qualifying stage. Spain defeated Norway 2-1 with goals from Rodrigo Moreno and Sergio Ramos.
Spanish football sends yet another message of solidarity and support to all those affected by the devastating DANA that impacted numerous municipalities in the Valencian Community.
